WhatsApp is the most popular chat messenger all over the World, and it regularly launched new features to provide comforts and to upgrade the security measures for its Android and iPhone chat Apps. Currently, WhatsApp launched an Android new feature to enhance the security of chat messenger named Fingerprint Lock. The use of this feature is to lock the messenger app and no one can access the app without unlocking the app via fingerprint sensor saved on the smartphone. The only thing you required to utilized this feature is to have the smartphone with fingerprint sensor plus the WhatsApp version 2.19.221 or above. This article will explain you how to add Fingerprint Lock on Android.

This feature is firstly available in a beta build for WhatsApp’s android users in August. This feature has been rolled out for iPhone since February. Now, here we will describe you how to setup Fingerprint Lock on your Android smartphone.

How to add Fingerprint Lock on WhatsApps for Android

To make this feature alive, you need the android smartphone with capacitive fingerprint sensor, and in display fingerprint sensor plus the latest installed version of WhatsApp version 2.19.221 or above. Now, you need to follow steps mentioned below to use this feature on Android smartphones.

1.       Open WhatsApp messenger, then on top-right tap the vertical three dots icon, go the Settings.

2.       Then Click on Account > Privacy > Fingerprint Lock.

3.       On the next screen there is the option available Unlock with Fingerprint.

4.       Now, you can use the fingerprint to unlock the WhatsApp messenger. Users can set the duration for this feature immediately, after a minute or After 30 minutes.

5.       Additionally, you have a choice to show the message content and sender in the notification or not.

6.       After finishing these proceedings, users now able to apply fingerprint to unlock the WhatsApp app.
